A nagging feeling most of us often struggle with is the sensation of not having enough time in our day. And, this may feel especially true at the moment with everything going on in the world — we’re homeschooling the kids while simultaneously working from home; we’re figuring out how to run errands in new ways; and we’re busy keeping our family happy and healthy as we head into summer.

When our minds are constantly racing and we’re either worrying about the future or freaking out about something in the past, our attention is pulled in different directions.

This is exhausting — and stressful.

And our body responds. We might experience an accelerated heart rate, increased body temperature, or muscle tension. This only makes us feel even more stressed and tired, which further fuels the belief that we just don’t have enough time.

But, by training our mind not to get carried away, meditation helps us to stay here — in this moment right now. The amazing thing is that when we’re not wasting energy on the undue worry and anxiety of not having time, we actually feel like we…have more time. 🙌

Once you meditate, you’ll feel lighter and you’ll feel like you have all the time you need. Try this for 5 to 10-minutes a day for the next week and see how you feel.

And, repeat after me:

You have time to listen to your favorite song.

You have time to drink a glass of water.

You have time to give our loved ones a hug and kiss.

You have time to meditate, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

All we ever (truly) have is time. This. Moment. Right. Now.
